Nutrition

The food we eat is central to our long-term health and wellbeing. Good nutrition increases energy levels, improves our mood and reduces the risk of illness and chronic disease.

A nutrition consultation can be helpful for anyone wanting to enhance their health through dietary and lifestyle changes. Our dietitian, Claire, is committed to providing people with the knowledge, skills, direction and motivation needed to improve their overall health and well being.

Dietetic therapy goes beyond just food and eating; it also addresses issues related to body image, physical activity, and thought patterns that might be preventing individuals from achieving a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Claire’s areas of specialty include:

  • Weight Management

  • Type 2 Diabetes, Insulin Resistance, Metabolic Syndrome

  • Autoimmune conditions (e.g. Hashimotos Thyroiditis)

  • Women’s Health (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Perimenopause and Menopause)

  • Gut Health, food intolerances, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

  • Osteopenia and Osteoporosis

  • Mood, Stress and Fatigue

An initial consultation offers an opportunity for Claire to get to know you and gain a deeper understanding of your current goals and challenges. She will discuss your medical history, medications, physical activity level, eating habits, and dietary intake. Claire will work with you to increase your nutrition knowledge and develop a plan that includes goals and recommendations to pursue before a follow-up consultation.

Review consultations are the time to work on additional goals, gain further knowledge and receive support, encouragement and motivation.
